Ad for Totino's Pizza, and It's So, So, So Weird

There's literally nothing better than pizza. So, it stands to reason pizza brands shouldn't really need to advertise. But if you're a brand trying to rise to the upper crust of pie purveyors, you might as well go super weird. Totino's just teamed up with Tim & Eric (aka, Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim) and released "Pizza Freaks Unite," which is arguably the weirdest ad for pizza since Pizza Hut Japan's "Pizza Cats."

Welcome to transparent banking

FIRST PERSON LOVER AVATARS ON RUNWAY IN BJÖRN BORG SHOW @FASHION WEEK STOCKHOLM

In impressive caves on an island in Stockholm, Swedish Fashion Brand Björn Borg, in collaboration with Creative Show Director Bea Åkerlund, treated the Fashion Week audience to an extravagant game-inspired runway show. Celebrating individuality, love and fashion in a digital era, the show served as a teaser for the Björn Borg ”First Person Lover” (not shooter!) computer game, releasing worldwide in January 2015 together with the brand’s SS15 collection.

Around 400 gathered to enjoy the brand’s first show on their home market in six years. Eurovision Song contest winner Conchita Wurst flew in to Stockholm to see the show, wearing a custom made Björn Borg body as she entered the show arena.

The Björn Borg SS15 show and collection were inspired by fictional worlds where sport and fashion intertwine in a confident and edgy, yet playful, way. Creative Show Director Bea Åkerlund had First Person Lover inspired projections as a backdrop and all models were wearing masks looking like the avatars of the upcoming game.

“Gaming and digital animation has a great impact on fashion today and we wanted to pick up on this in the collection and show. Bea Åkerlund has caught the idea of our game, to create some more love in the world, in a fantastic way. We are really exited to show a teaser of the collection and the game to the fashion world” said Björn Borg Head of Design James Lee.

The Björn Borg First Person Lover computer game will launch in January 2015 along with the Björn Borg Spring-Summer 2015 collection. Shop Björn Borg at http://www.bjornborg.com

Swedish Guys Try Making A Cake While Hooked Up To An Electrotherapy Machine

Warning: This video is entirely in Swedish, so you might want to take advantage of the dark magic that is YouTube’s closed caption translation service. However, while it might enhance your enjoyment of the video, it’s by no means a requirement. The reality is that you don’t need a translator to appreciate two guys trying to bake a cake while strapped to a machine that makes your muscles contract. This isn’t the first time Caffeine Creations tried to perform culinary magic while demonstrating the effects of electrotherapy, but it’s still incredibly entertaining to witness. The duo attempts to make a traditional “midsummer cake” (complete with fermented herring!), with the key word being “attempt.” It turns out that it’s not easy to cook things when you’re not in control of your limbs. It is easy to laugh at, though, and that’s exactly what I did. Sometimes funny videos can get you to start thinking about stuff you wouldn't normally think of. BACKGROUND No one likes waiting. Especially when it’s about mobile Internet. OBJECTIVE Only the fastest 4G LTE mobile Internet won’t keep you waiting. And this was the message we had to bring home to our subscribers. IDEA We got the hottest girls in Russian show business/the most popular Instagram bloggers: Victoria Bonya, Alena Vodonaeva and Anna Sedokova to upload the most staggering pictures with the following hash tags: #sexy #oiled #myself #six #hot #naked #pumpedup #guys #red #latex #ass #withanimals #cat #bear #horse #crazy #positions #wow #amazing #ohmygod. Here it is. Yup, it’s just a photo, not connection problems, as you may have thought. The visitors were at a loss, and the number of comments grew further and further. But two hours later our beauties uploaded a video reveal containing the MTS 4G ad. And they apologized for creating too much “expectation" among their subscribers. RESULTS - The campaign attracted the attention of 1.6 million curious visitors. - And when the other users started to upload tease picture on their accounts, the number of people involved grew to 3 million. - This has been the quickest advertising campaign for the fastest mobile 4G Internet from MTS

This Danish 'Get Out the Vote' PSA Is So Full of Sex and Violence, It Was Pulled Immediately

If you thought the U.S. had weird political ads, check out this bit of insanity from Denmark: a 90-second cartoon that stars a character called Voteman, who isn't apathetic about voting, or about getting pleasured by five ladies at the same time at the 12-second mark. The video also includes a decapitation, dolphin surfing, lots of violence as well as more sex—as Voteman goes on a 'roid-rage rampage, physically forcing Danes to vote in the upcoming European election (where they'll decide on weighty topics like climate regulation, agricultural subsidies, and chemicals in toys). The video was posted Monday on the Danish Parliament's social media sites before being swiftly removed. The parliament speaker later told the Associated Press that the government should "be more careful with what we put our name to."

You Can Help This Band Scam Spotify So They Can Go on Tour

Los Angeles funk band Vulfpeck wants to go on tour, but they're going to need your help to raise the money. This isn't some Kickstarter: They've made an entirely silent album designed specifically for the purpose of siphoning cash away from Spotify's treasury. Its a clever stunt, and it just might work. Here's the deal: The band released a 10 track record called Sleepify on Spotify. Each song is just over 30 seconds long, and they're all completely silent. The idea is that you can leave the record playing while you sleep, they'll make $4 overnight. What's more, the band will take the show on the road to the places where people are listening to Sleepify the most. I didn't even know it was possible to get that information from Spotify, but sure! Could the band have just asked you to play their music on mute while you sleep? Yes, but because the Sleepify tracks are super short, the band will rack up the cash faster this way. Moreover, you have to admire the ingenuity of the whole project. People are always telling musicians that they need to adapt to the realities of digital music by finding creative ways to make money. That's exactly what Vulfpeck is doing, hilariously.

Perfect Match: Brazilian Kids Learn English by Video Chatting With Lonely Elderly Americans

It's such a great, simple idea: Young Brazilians want to learn English. Elderly Americans living in retirement homes just want someone to talk to. Why not connect them? FCB Brazil did just that with its "Speaking Exchange" project for CNA language schools. As seen in the touching case study below, the young Brazilians and older Americans connect via Web chats, and they not only begin to share a language—they develop relationships that enrich both sides culturally and emotionally. The differences in age and background combine to make the interactions remarkable to watch. And the participants clearly grow close to one another, to the point where they end up speaking from the heart in a more universal language than English. The pilot project was implemented at a CNA school in Liberdade, Brazil, and the Windsor Park Retirement Community in Chicago. The conversations are recorded and uploaded as private YouTube videos for the teachers to evaluate the students' development. "The idea is simple and it's a win-win proposition for both the students and the American senior citizens. It's exciting to see their reactions and contentment. It truly benefits both sides," says Joanna Monteiro, executive creative director at FCB Brazil. Says Max Geraldo, FCB Brazil's executive director: "The beauty of this project is in CNA's belief that we develop better students when we develop better people."

The Most Hated Sounds In The World

Although most of us need to use some kind of an alarm clock, most people admit how much they hate hearing the sound of their alarm going off in the morning. But is your alarm clock’s alarm sound really one of the most hated sounds in the world? Research indicates otherwise and OnlineClock.net have released an infographic of the top 10 most hated sounds in the world at http://blog.onlineclock.net/most-hated-sounds-in-the-world Using brain imaging, a study from University College London found that the Amygdala is responsible for adjusting emotional responses to unpleasant noises. It sends a sort of distress signal to the auditory cortex, which is the part of the brain responsible for processing sound. In this way, our emotional response to a negative sound is heightened beyond the normal emotional response to other sounds.

Taco Bell Recruits Real Ronald McDonalds to Launch Its New Breakfast

Morris, one of the most respected directors in film and advertising, worked with Deutsch L.A. to film spots that feature real people named Ronald McDonald enjoying Taco Bell's new breakfast menu items, like the A.M. Crunchwrap and Sausage Flatbread Melt. In terms of creative execution, there's not a whole lot to the spots. We see Ronalds from all walks of life eating some Taco Bell breakfast and then talking about how great it is. They don't specifically trash McDonald's, but the narrator closes with the line, "Delicious new breakfast everyone can love, even Ronald McDonald." Of course there's a mouthful of an on-screen legal disclaimer, but the ad team even had a little fun with that: "These Ronald McDonalds are not affiliated with McDonald's Corporation and were individually selected as paid endorsers of Taco Bell breakfast, but man, they sure did love it."

Ford Trashes Cadillac With Great Parody of 'Poolside' Ad Everyone Hated

It took a while, but someone has finally lampooned Cadillac's much-derided "Poolside" commercial starring Neal McDonough. And not just any old someone—Ford Motor Co. Ford's agency, Team Detroit, shot the parody below, which stars the polar opposite of the McDonough character—Pashon Murray, the founder of Detroit Dirt, a sustainability consultancy and advocacy group. The Cadillac spot showcased the CLR luxury plug-in hybrid. The Ford video shows off the Ford C-MAX hybrid. But Murray's message about today's America is light years away from Cadillac's. The spoof is posted on its own YouTube channel, not Ford's. But it has Ford's tacit approval. Speaking to the Deroit Free Press, Ford spokeswoman Sara Tatchio described the video as "lighthearted," and added: "I don't think we're mocking a competitor. We're trying to showcase positive work being done in our community." Yeah, no mockery going on here. GM has not commented. VIA Adweek

The Original 'Strangers First Kiss' (1990)

That 'First Kiss' Video That Had Strangers Kissing? Yeah, It's A Fashion Ad. Now ticking at 37 million views after just three days on youtube. Great viral going on there. If you've been on Facebook or Twitter for the last 48 hours then chances are you've seen the wildly popular "First Kiss" video which features a group of super good-looking strangers kissing for the first time. When it first went viral, we thought, "oh, what a sweet and heartwarming short film!" but it turns out, the video is actually a fashion advertisement for LA-based label Wren. We weren't the only ones fooled: since March 10, the video has earned more than 23 million hits (!!!) with media outlets describing it as, "touching" (The Independent), "natural" (The Telegraph) and "breathtaking" (Liberty Voice). The film, directed by Tatia Plleva, was in fact meant to not look like a fashion commercial even though it features 20 models, actors and singers (who, it's worth noting, are actually strangers). Wren's founder and creative director Melissa Coker told Fashionista that the video was launched as part of Style.com's video fashion week. “We make these fashion films every season,” Coker said. “I strive to make them an interesting film that exists on its own rather than something that feels like a commercial, and it seems to be touching people — not only people who are in fashion and would see this, but also random guys who aren’t connected at all. I’ve had random guys texting me, ‘I saw your video, it’s — and I’m probably not saying this right — on the cover of Reddit.’” Despite the fact that it's an advertisement, the video is not only beautiful but a genius way to get Wren out there as a fashion label. )

Most Shocking Second a Day Video

For PSA campaigns aimed at getting people to help the children of Syria, job one is making the crisis feel immediate rather than remote. Last month's hidden-camera stunt in Norway, in which a child sat freezing without a coat at a bus stop in winter, did just that. Now, Save the Children has released its own U.K. campaign to make the horror in Syria feel real—the 90-second video below, which does so to devastating effect. The ad, by creative agency Don't Panic, imagines if what has happened in Syria were to happen in London. Amazingly shot, it uses the structure of the popular one-second-a-day videos to show an ordinary girl's world falling apart over a period of a year (from birthday to birthday)—as her comfortable middle-class existence evaporates and she finds herself a homeless and fatherless refugee amid the horrors of war. The video coincides with the buildup to the third anniversary of the Syrian crisis, which has left 100,000 people dead and 2 million more as refugees. On-screen text at the end reads: "Just because it isn't happening here doesn't mean it isn't happening." "It's easy to forget that Syria was a middle income country, where children enjoyed the benefits of education, healthcare and the other basic rights our children take for granted—not to mention Facebook accounts, video games and youth culture," says Jack Lundie, director of brand and communications at Save the Children. "We hope the video will resonate with the public, particularly those who don't know much about the situation in Syria, and offer a new perspective on the devastating impact this conflict is having on innocent Syrian children."
